I purchased this product to install on a toshiba laptop that is currently running Vista. PC guys tell me that since this disk is OEM branded Dell/HP, it may not work or run on a Toshiba laptop, is this true?
*****Added by Admin:
Hi Robert, that is not true. This is an OEM Full version that we guarantee to load on any brand of PC. We guarantee 100% that it will load and work as a full version on your Toshiba and activate with Microsoft.

Can I install this on an HP Pavillion dv6 laptop with existing Windows Vista Basic on it?
*****Added by Admin:
Hi Joe! Yes, this software will install on any brand PC and it will overwrite the Vista Basic program for a clean new install of Windows XP Pro. Make sure to backup any important files and programs as this will clean off the entire computer and start new.

I want to install this on a blank second hard-drive on a computer that has Windows 7 on the first hard-drive. Will this work? How hard is it to find drivers?
*****Added by Admin:
Hi Sheila! Yes, this software is designed to run as a full version on a clean hard drive or to overwrite everything that is currently on the drive as a full clean version. Upon installation, the software will ask you which drive you would like to install the software. Finding drivers is a snap as most computer configs will usually be stored on the XP disk. If not, its as easy as an internet search and a simple download. We are also happy to help with the install. Thank you!!

My company currently has 20 desktops running XP Home Edition Service pack 3. We must upgrade to XP Professional SP3 for our new distribution system. In order to avoid having to do 20 "full installs" I was wondering if you have XP Professional Service Pack 3 Upgrades. If so then I believe I read somewhere that the COA of one upgrade disk can be used for two upgrades. Please confirm this.

Hi Buddy,
Yes you are correct. The Windows XP Pro SP3 Retail Upgrade is good for 2 installs AND it will keep all your Windows XP Home files intact. We do have those available here:

I bought a computer through Puget Systems with XP Pro SP3 and it did not come with the operating system on a disc. I knew that it would not come with the disc at the time. I didn't think I would need it but now I do. Will this OEM version install over that operating system so that I will have the disc? If I needed to reinstall later could I do that with this OEM version? I don't mind completely reformatting if necessary. Should I get the full version or just the upgrade? Also, does it have to be XP Pro or could I install an OEM of XP Home on top of the XP Pro?

Hi John,
An OEM version of Home, Pro or Win 7 Pro will install completely over your old OS. No worries about it not being compatible as long as the hardware is sufficient to run the operating system. Thank you for the questions!

Hi, Tek-Micro sounds so familiar. I spent a lot of time helping in aol's Tech Chat years ago...so I know you? Anyway, I've had my head buried as a user for the last several years and now I need some help and advice.
I have a corporate version of XP_Pro on this machine I built and would like to keep it but I can't seem to install Silverlight or any SPs or updates. Maybe this, "Birthday gift" wasn't such a real deal? I have all my backups on partition E: What would your advice be?
*****Added by Admin:
Hi! Thanks for the question. Well, you are right, you will not be able to download updates or Silverlight on a corporate version of Windows XP. The most inexpensive route would be: 1. Backup all your info on DVD/Portable Hard drive or USB drive. 2. - Install a Clean OEM Version of Windows XP Pro with SP3. This version is inexpensive and already has SP3. Once installed, add your backed up files back to the new partition and VIOLA!

I want to upgrade 2 computers, Older computer with Genuine XP Professional sp2 and the newer purchased with XP Home sp3, can this be used on both or is it restricted to one only.
*****Added by Admin:
Hi Pat! Being that this version is OEM, it is good for one install and activation only. You would either need to purchase 2 of these, or, if you are looking to upgrade you can purchase the Windows XP Pro Upgrade version which is good for 2 activations. If you go the OEM route, you will install clean and it will erase all files making you're computers like they were just shipped to you from the factory. If you go the upgrade route, you will keep all files and programs that are currently on the computers. Here is the upgrade version for 2 activations:

Hi,
I am looking for a way to run some important programs on my new Win7 computer that will not work on 64 bit. I am told that VMplayer will allow me to install WinXP in a separate virtual machine and run my old programs. I find that I can't transfer WinXP from the old computer (won't start) because I don't have a disk (it is OEM) and the product key does not work with VMplayer. I am pretty sure that your product will work with VMplayer but thought I would ask for confirmation.
Will it work with VMplayer?
*****Added By Admin
Hi James,
The product you are commenting on here is also an OEM Version, albeit with an un-activated product keycode. This version is physically able to be installed on a VWplayer but I would refer to the Microsoft EULA concerning the validity of the installation. I have read that there may be issues with the activation where you will have to call in the activation to the Microsoft server being that it is an OEM version. But, once installed and activated it should be no issue. If you think you would rather avoid the hassle of this, I would recommend the retail version of Windows XP Pro which is $133.99 and located here:

Thank you for the question!

Ok my question is which build is this the 2002 or 2009? and how curren are the hotfixes in it. This means alot so i dont have to spend all day doing updates after the install. Thanks
*****Added by Admin:
Hi Peteman,
Thank you for the question. This version is the 2009 version with the most recent Service Pack 3 which includes all the latest hotfixes and updates. It is a full OEM version which will install as a clean version on PC or can be loaded using Bootcamp on Mac. Thanks in advance!
